Insights on spirituality and inspiration from the word of God.
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;
I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. “
Ezekiel 36:26
Question #1
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God
so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
I John 5:13
Question #2
If the answer refers to “good works” or anything we can do to earn or merit God’s acceptance, then an authentic salvation experience may not have occurred.
The answer must be based on these truths: salvation is a true gift and eternal life is received only through acceptance of the death of Jesus Christ as payment for our personal debt of sin.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith –
and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
Ephesians 2:8
“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree,
so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness;
by His wounds you have been healed.”
I Peter 2:24
“Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”
Acts 16:31
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”
2 Corinthians 5:17
Prayer of Salvation
God, I admit I have lived a self-centered life.
I ask you to forgive me for my sins,
I recognize my desperate need to be saved.
Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross
to pay the penalty for my personal sins.
Come in to my life to be my Savior and my Lord.
Thank you for giving me a new life and for
what you will do in me and through me.
In Christ’s name I pray.
AMEN
